The Grain Series uses yarn to trace the natural grain of found wood, at moments transitioning into loose fiber. Inspired by theater, drag, club, and spaces of illusion, the work alludes to narratives of gender in material and uses that history to confront assumed polarities. It is both hard and soft, structured and loose, masculine and feminine.
